5+ ( How to cultivate a strong Desire)

Yet another five plus class and what more can I say than it can only keep getting Berra and Berra. Like I said before this is not an excuse not to come for the class as what I share is just a reflexion of what I got in class.
Desire in yoruba = dì sí áyà "what you packaged in your heart" okay that's by the way.
Our queue from the bible was hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV)

This scripture explains how Jesus endured the cross for the task that was ahead of Him, and likened it unto us "when you ignore the applause of men, you will not be moved by their criticism"
Don't shy away from responsibility, embrace it
" the man in the arena" is a relatable story read it at http://leadersdigest.me/2015/02/25/the-man-in-arena/

Shame is measured in the people's opinion, everything that brings shame is a measure of people's opinion cause of what people have set as a standard.

Mistake = missing something at stake

Two forces to achieve your responsibility
1.Endure your responsibility.
2. Despise the shame

Let's drift a little
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE GOAL?
It is the lack of goals that makes you lose enthusiasm after a while in chasing a desire objective. What goals does for us is to help harness all our resources together to a main objective.
"Purpose is not a gift, it is a discovery"

Desire is what makes you commit to action, for the world it starts from the mouth but for us it starts from the heart.the voice from within must be Loud enough. When we couple our prayer with our desire we are bound to receive Isaiah 43:26, mark 11:23-24

How to cultivate your desire
1. Have something specific you want to see
2. Determine what you are willing to give in exchange for that target
"Your desire is a silent request that is louder than your vocal expression"
3. Have words of affirmation
4. Write it down (affirmations)
When you pour out your heart God pours out His Spirit

Obstacles= obstructions to be tackled

Thank you sir, Dr Olumuyiwa Oludayo for such a wonderful time.

122

Does that number ring a bell in your ear, I'm  not coding anything with that number. If the number does not remind you of anything it only means you can't relate to the number.
The number signifies the number of days remaining for final year students of Covenant university to graduate, yes sir! Yes ma! The countdown has begun.

I will miss a lot of things when I leave sure, but if it's about the environment we can always adapt to new environments but I will miss my friends, you don't get the kind of friends I have on the surface no they are deep, I can say Confidently I have the best set of friends,  you know I can't start mentioning names you guys are many.

There are so many experiences that have happened during my stay in this school, and Yh I'm proud of my school 'covenant university is the name', experiences that I will like to share from the good to the bad and the ugly but I won't want to share just mine alone so let's do it this way.

Send your interesting and non-interesting experiences in covenant university to this email leaders.digest@yahoo.com let's share our beautiful covenant experience with the world.

I will be expecting your emails if there are pictures it will be appreciated. And they stories will be posted also.

Try something new

Albert Einstein: when was the last time you tried something for the first time?
Me: *raises hand*
Albert Einstein: yes you
Me: today 😤

Thanks to Alimi and Oyin who inspired we trying out something new for breakfast this morning, we decided to order waffles and chicken with coffee, nice meal yh worth the amount Buh I don't think I will like to buy the waffles again.

You should try something new also today, may not have to relate to food like mine Buh something you haven't done before its fun and adventurous believe me, you feel accomplished and important.

And I have observed that people don't try new things because of the fear of failure, in an article I once wrote "overcoming fear of failure" http://leadersdigest.blog.com/2014/02/18/are-you-scared-of-failing/  you can read it on that link. I shared some of the ways of overcoming the fear of failure
Which include 1. Fail 2. Learn 3. Passion 4. Ignore

" try something new today" have fun doing so.

FINAL YEAR LEAGUE

Really one of the most anticipated football event in the school and I should have written about this since the beginning Buh my team have not performed to their best, and this weekend will decide our fate after drawing our first and losing our second match we need to score and score a lot of goals to qualify from the group.

The group regarded as the group of death, we started as one of the favorites Buh after our first two games our performance is now been questioned.

The league started with lots of excitement as lots of people came out to watch, and it has been fun since the beginning of the league, both on and off the field, believe me it has been drama filled, fights on the field, on Twitter, etc more so the celebrations and individual efforts.

Really some are playing to be remembered and I also want to be remembered as one of the players.

Come Friday to Sunday this weekend the games continues and I am out there to win, training has been fun but "commend the result not the process" .
See you on Saturday where my team will be tested against ICE(information and communication engineering).

Mini defense and confidence

Successful Mini-defense
Almost everybody has something to say about, at least I do. Just last week we were informed we will have our mini defense on Monday, honestly it sounded like a joke to me and till some minutes ago I still thought it was a joke.

Wait a minute, George is on suit omg!(the guy with the red mark) One of the things defense can do to a man, George does not wear suit even for his matriculation he didn't wear a suit yes it's that serious. There are so many intricacies about my colleagues dressing today, but back to business.

My defense was interesting, my panel was lively as it almost turned to a gisting session.
But apart from the many funny things that happened today there are lots of things to learn from the whole process buh I will just speak to one, confidence!
All through the preparation I made sure my confidence level was high.

Essentially,self-confidence is the belief in one’s ability to succeed. Contrary to what most people think, people who have high self-confidence sometimes doubt themselves or their abilities; elite athletes report feelings of apprehension and pressure prior to competition but still perform well.

So being confident doesn’t mean the absence of negative thoughts or feelings. Rather, self- confident means believe in ones ability to perform well despite feelings such as apprehension or doubt.

If you feel you lack that self confidence here are tips that should help

Look at what you have achieved: taking a look at the things you have achieved personally is a great way to boast your confidence, as it brings to you the reminder that you are good and great things have been wrought through you.

Think of the things you are good at: thinking about your potentials and you positives also will boast your confidence, personally I can think about my great football skill don't know what you think you are good at buh u r definitely good at something than someone, cheer yourself up with it.

Set some goals and achieve them: oh the joy of setting goals and achieving it, if I were to set this tips accordingly I would put it as no 1. I can still picture my face when I achieved my set goals I feel confident about the next task.

Talk to someone about it: if none of this works for you, you can consult someone who can help you but you must be careful who you tell as not everyone can help and some may use it against you.

LOVE

“I like to win and i like winners

I am result driven and goal oriented

I am action oriented and competitive

I am a leader, therefore I am not driven by what I feel but what I see.”

does this really make a real leader?

The truth is many of our leadership practices are motivated by our fear and even when we are not conscious of fear, it is often present. The fear of failure, the fear of loss, the fear of disgrace.

The real magic of transformation happens when you stop promoting fear, make more space for your loving nature as human beings. simply put make love your key leadership strategy. love is more than an emotion, it is a state of conscious awareness and intention that shapes many behaviors .

Risky or not, we must find ways to bring love in our lives if we aspire to move leadership out of the domain of fear. consider the greatest leaders in history, Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, they lead in love and they established great landmarks. Even the greatest leader of All God and his son Jesus lead with great Love (john 3:16). The only antidote powerful enough to address pernicious culture of fear is Love.

“I love to win and I love winners

I am result driven, goal oriented and people oriented.

I am action oriented, competitive and Kindhearted.

I am a true leader, therefore i lead in love.”

5 plus +

This is not a substitute for coming to the class, as all I share is just what I was able to learn from the class on a personal note.
It was another beautiful Wednesday highly anticipated without expecting to see our facilitator Dr Olumuyiwa Buh surprisingly he was there. A quick note at what we learnt

Topic: how to create a system within an organization.
Ephesians 4:10-16
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:16 NIV)

"The solution is within" every organization wanting to advance should look thin not outside.
"We live our life so scatteredly as individuals, we need to capitalize and know our area of strength"

There are those who [generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more than is fitting or what is justly due, but it results only in want. (Proverbs 11:24 AMP)
There is what to save and there is what tot invest.
"You can't provide leadership when there are deficiencies in your life"

5 domain of Leadership ( sphere of influence)
1⃣You: you must learn to lead yourself
2⃣Others: John 8:12 your light must help others find their light
3⃣Groups: you must be able to contribute positively
4⃣Institutions: institutions have goals, you design a plan to meet their goals and in turn you achieve your goals
5⃣Communities/societies: Give to the society, influence is about giving.

Perspective of change
1⃣It means to create
2⃣It means to innovate( improve upon the existing)
3⃣It means to replicate
4⃣It means to terminate (to stop the unproductive)

Conditions of change
Change occur under two conditions
➡️ The condition of light (pleasure, inspiration)
➡️ The condition of heat (pain, discomfort)

" it is better to change under condition of light than heat"
"Until a man becomes an institution he is not a great influence"
"Wealth is an item in the agenda of influence"

Thank you sir, Dr Olumuyiwa Oludayo

POLITICAL HIGI HAGA

I thought my CLD class this morning was going to be a political argument as Professor Aize announced it was about politics. I was thinking it would be something that would relate to the political situation in Nigeria, that's by the way.

Talking about Politics, of recent I picked interest in the political higi haga in line with the on coming presidential election in Nigeria. As much as I would avoid any argument about politics as most of them often lead to exchange of words and losing of tempers especial when the other party is having a different view from yours.

The election is almost here again and as usual when it's time for election politicians begin to give empty promises, I will do this I will do that sometimes I really get tired of listening to their promises, littering everywhere with their posters and promising us clean environment, receiving corrupt money to campaign and promising to wipe away corruption, who are you planning to wipe away biko, the people that gave you money to run for the post? You are joking.

Like I always say you don't begin to campaign when election is here already, you should have been winning the hearts of the people from your other actions giving you respect from the people.
It really pisses me off when I see bad leadership and that is one of the dominant things we experience in Nigeria, power by all means. Some people will be there for years doing nothing and they will still want to continue, shey you will digest the ones you have eaten, and give other people chance to eat their own but no they want to die on the line despite the much wind.

It is now even more annoying to know that the violence caused during this election periods are by the so called masses not the elite people, they be chilling wherever they are while others be fighting and killing themselves in their behalf abi have you ever heard that a big man died while carrying ballot box? No! it is sad Ehn, say no to violence during election. Wait why did they even postpone the election? You want to clear Boko in 6 weeks Well

Ben-Caleb's Class

Is this man a preacher or a lecturer, I think He would make it better as a preacher than a lecturer but believe me I love this mans class, never boring I don't even care if the stories are true or not but I bet you will also enjoy His class.

He is always agile and cheerful, ready to teach at the same time bless his students wish we could clone Him to teach us other courses at least some Bfn courses.

Bringing His political views to class may not seem to go well with me but you will enjoy Ben Calebs class.
Financial intelligence, oh! he can speak on it for hours wonder where His motivation comes from.
Thumbs up sir.

My baby is a year older

its that time of the year again and my baby is a year older, not like I gave birth to her but I call her my baby, it sounds better. like play like play now she will bring husband home, I still remember the day she was given birth to, even her naming ceremony I can remember well, her growing up days are clear before like an HD movie, her first word "idi da aya" I remember well, her first walking attempts I remember well also but all seems irrelevant now as she is now a big girl and she wouldn't even listen to all my stories of her growing days, I can say them for hours tho.

Today she clocks 15, yh she is now a teenager and I envy her skill in fashion designing, she wants to be a fashion designer and she is already showing the prove of it.

She is smart and adorable, my play partner she understands me well and she knows how to make anybody laugh just like me she does not have a boring moment, always excited and you begin to wonder where did you get all this energy from.

I can write all day about all your attributes, skill, and works even when you are just fifteen now imagine what will come out of you at 20, at 25, at 50 common my sister is the bomb and she is definitely going to explode, soon! hey hey not boko o.
I LOVE YOU FAITH ADEYEMO than any boy, that will soon come and start professing such if they have not started yet sef, big brother over other boys.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAITH.

MY JOURNEY

Is it my questionnaire I want to collect that is making me so excited, or I just enjoy traveling. Why this so much joy in me, leaving Ben Caleb's class heading to the hall my exeat was finally approved after two attempts for a noble cause.

I jumped out of school with the joy in me, heading to the park I was expecting Babcock to be some minutes drive till we had to wait for over 30 minutes for the bus to be full, seem that was not enough we had to sign that we were in the bus with the name of our next of kin beside and am like don't worry about all this am a son of Papa......I can't die. "E jè ká gbadurá" wait I taught Babcock was just behind why this long prayer for protection sha the Bible said pray without ceasing.

My journey to Babcock was not that funny bumps here and there, but finally I got there the environment was a different ball game from where I come from Buh not bad it was bigger than I imagined.

Thanks to my good friend Ezinne who was eager to show me around from the medical school to the halls of residence, banks, and others......omg time is far spent I need to see Dotun my other nice friend.

I was so happy to see Dotun and Temi who had helped me with my questionnaire and I must confess she looks better in person than in pictures.

My journey to Lagos should have been better save the normal Lagos holdup that delayed me, and something caught my attention in the bus, a good name the bible says is better than precious ointment. Am sure the governor of Ogun and Lagos state would be somewhere chilling but the political discussion in the bus seemed to favour them as everyone seemed to be showering praises on them and thanking God for the kind of Leader they were.

Sigh.... am finally home, where is my food please am starving.

DTA: A real G

There are people you meet and you and they give you hope that there are still good people on this earth and there is hope for this country.
I have met some couple of people within my few years in this school and without any formal occasion happening or any event I will like to appreciate all my friends in this school.
I won't like to start calling names now Ehn you know I have so many friends but let me take time out to appreciate one guy, one particular guy like that he is the best partner you can have on your team, a man that gives me the motivation needed to continue, academically, spiritually, emotionally, I admire your lifestyle ,and would like to be like you when I grow up.
Adeyemi Daniel popularly known as DTA I appreciate you man more grace upon your life.
This place the emphasis on the importance of having a friend, a friend in need they say is a friend indeed.
Friendship is a choice they say, but it is a choice I think everyone should make, I imagine a life without real friends around, don't do that to yourself get a friend and most importantly be a friend.

Bible: "A faithful friend is a strong defense: and he that hath found one hath found a treasure"
Robert Louis Stevenson: "A friend is a present you give to yourself."

GOALS!!

For bodily exercise profiteth little
Guess I went for that  little today, that feeling when you achieve on of your goals, long  or short.
I remember late last year i scrambled some things down and called them my new year resolutions. And one of them was to jog at least once a week and am happy I did that this night, thanks to motivation from my colleagues Alimi, Zani,Gbenga,Richo,And Ugo.
Talking about goals

Do you have goals???
Most of us do, if I don't remember any of my goals at least I know I want to graduate this year come June.
Now another question

How many of us have our goals written down???
You know there is a huge difference between having your goals in your head and having them written down, the latter is better.
Now I guess this should be the last question

Do you have a mapped out plan on how to achieve your Goals???
I doubt, I also fall a victim some years back when I didn't know the importance or mapping out plans to achieve the goals.
You know most of the time we overemphasize the end result and forget about the process, meanwhile the fun is in the process, the fun is in mapping out a plan.
Set out your goals, write it down, map a plan to chose them, and have fun.

Desire to finish

I shouldn't be angry tho, Buh am human this is me trying to get exeat for a noble cause and am being denied after two attempts. I just sit here and watch people go home and am here desiring to home with no approval.

The devil is a bastard sha, see all the ways he is showing me of which I can get out of school Buh no, the end is better than the beginning I rather sit here in school than go out through an illegal means. I have never gone out illegally why is it now that the thought is coming? It just reminds me again that the end is better than the beginning the convocation is better than the matriculation.

I remember saying something about consistency earlier, I can imagine a student without any carry over since 100 level just to get one in His final semester that's sad. No wonder Pastor Victor made us pray for the grace to finish.

In everything we do we should also thrive for the grace to finish.
